DAN ASTLES

Facilitator

“I am a singer/songwriter, performer and community artist with over 10 years experience within music. This ranges from performing my own music in my solo project ‘Astles’. Playing internationally and touring the UK, supporting artists such as The Mysterines, Matt Maltease and Michael Head. I graduated from LIPA in 2022, receiving the Beatles Story prize and having a one to one songwriting session with Paul McCartney. My music has been described as “gorgeous, lilting indie” by the NME and has been played on BBC 6 Music. As well as this I run songwriting workshops across the area for many different community groups. This includes my project 'Balloon Moon Community' which aims to improve people's welfare through writing and recording music. I think music can help improve peoples mood and self worth massively!

I love working at RAWD so much! It is full of the most wonderful people, who leave you feeling so happy and full of energy. It has inspired me and artist and as a person and I feel just so lucky to be involved.”
