RAWD’s Mission
RAWD (Random Acts of Wildness Disability) champions greater representation for learning disabled people in the arts and the wider world by transforming accessible practice in an arts sector that centres learning disabled perspectives.
We believe creativity is a powerful vehicle for independence, confidence and expression - enabling people to dream bigger, communicate more freely, and take up space that’s rightfully theirs.
Only 5% of people with a learning disability are in paid employment, despite 86% wanting to work. (Scope)
In the arts, this imbalance continues...
Only 5% of artistic staff identifying as disabled. (Arts Council England)
By providing paid roles, training, and professional progression, we can help change those statistics - from participation, to employment, to leadership.
